Tecogen Sells Combined Heat and Power (CHP) System to Large, Regional Long Island High School

WALTHAM, Mass., May 13, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Tecogen® Inc. (NASDAQ: TGEN) today announced the sale of a CM-75 combined heat and power (CHP) system to a large, regional high school located in Suffolk County, Long Island, New York. The Tecogen CHP system will supply 75 kW of electricity to the facility, while simultaneously providing space heat, domestic hot water and pool heating at a far lower cost than the conventional alternative of utility-purchased electricity.

The sale, through a regional office of a multi-national Energy Services Company (ESCO), is part of a comprehensive energy savings project for the school district.

"Tecogen's CHP units are a perfect solution for schools and other public buildings in municipalities looking to cut energy consumption and lower utility costs," said Robert Panora, President and COO of Tecogen.  "In areas with high energy rates, communities pay a premium for energy. Tecogen provides customers with a reliable, cost-effective solution for reducing energy consumption and cutting costs with an environmentally-friendly solution."
